I thought the first one nailed it,...it assures me that Dave is just the good kind of guy I was sure he was. And it confrms to me that reality TV is anything but "real" and is mostly a bunch of trumped up BS Soap Opera drama. The show does the same non-sense to Hugh,...both Dave and Hugh own their own businesses when they aren't doing "Reality TV". Hugh has a Contruction/Excavating Company with all sorts of heavy equipment,...Dave has a Heavy Haul Trucking outfit that does the same type of work that Lisa wants to do on the Dalton. The second article was half truth and half BS. I never saw Maya ever whine and complain or worrying about getting her hands dirty,...what I saw was her picking up a 25lb 1 inch impact Gun and unbolting a wheel while the air exhausting from the Gun blowing dirt all over her, the cameraman, and anyone else nearby and laughing about it (and not complaining that she got her hands dirty). Yea, she called the truck "cute",...so what?,...if she complained or whined about it then people would be beating up on her for complaining. The Hot-Tub scene?,...so what?,..heck that may be the only episode I keep on my DVR,...I can only stare at snow and darkend truck cabs with night vision cameras for so long. A bikini does a guy good sometimes as long as he isn't the one wearing it. |

omg ...can't believe I dropped the ball on friending Dave on Fb....just did....he has close to 1000 friends....I kinda thought something happened when he was posting on here and then just stopped....my sarcastic , get even attitude says go get em.... the rational , calm part of me says fighting them isn't worth it...we all know the way it was on that show...I guess they didn't want anyone telling the truth and clearing up the crap....I now have new respect for Dave and less for the production people.... |

You might get the same impression of Hugh. You'll find him to be a lot more "normal" of a guy than the show portrays. Check out this Interview from a year ago. I think it is at his home sitting at a picnic table Hugh Rowland Ice Road Trucker http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9fxC6X5-4g&feature=related Then there is this 4-part interview done at an Oregon TV station: Outlook Portland 6/13/10 Segment 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jP6JcDChE_U&feature=relmfu Outlook Portland 6/13/10 Segment 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EG4BoBc039U&feature=relmfu Outlook Portland 6/13/10 Segment 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEh-mMISM4Y&feature=relmfu Outlook Portland 6/13/10 Segment 4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Wa4-yHnxYI&feature=relmfu |

Dave deleted his main fb page last month (he has 3 plus 2 public person pages 1 of which is not him) after being threatened with lawsuits, but he brought it back after a few weeks and he's back to commenting. |

As on nearly all TV shows, people involved have to sign NDAs, and Dave better watch his mouth or they will sue. All of this stuff though is just dumb. Anyone who thinks "reality" TV actually represents reality is nuts. You work at the pleasure of the producers, and get booted at their pleasure as well. And Dave does complain too much. |
