Dave's gone not because he can't drive a truck like a pro, he's gone because nobody liked him and Dave wasn't there to kiss ass and be liked. It's a click and the lead dick complained about the new guy not sucking up to him and taking his bull shit (i.e. Tony). IMHO, Tony is an inmature dick that can't treat a man like a man and respect the fact that you can't talk down to a man and not piss him off. The click is like a buch of girls, with Tony being the lead cheerleader. Tony would not make it long in the real world of truckers, and most likely get his ass kicked a few times before he learnd to watch what he says and how he says it to veteran truck drivers. Dave, you were the best driver they had up there, and that's why you are gone... you made the girls look bad. Welcome to the world of PC trucking up north. I think Dave has a good case for discrimination based upon the shows I watched. The only thing that hurt Dave was that he was not viewed as a veterany trucker and treated like a rookie. If this is how rookies are treated in trucking, it's no wonder why the turn over is so high... like 98% turnover every year.

I haven't seen the episode yet but I think we all pretty much saw it coming. Dave will always be a good guy in my book. He got a raw deal all around and his pride kept him from rolling over like a lap dog. I sense that a lot of people (fans) have soured toward Carlile because how Dave was treated, so Dave if you're still lurking here, hold your head high, you did a hell of a job! Cheers!! |

Couldn't of said it any better than whiplock did.....after the initial disagreement during training with "company boy" Tony he spread bad words around Carlile and from then on everyone avoided Dave (even messed with his equipment a few times I think) and treated him like a pariah....that would worsen anybody's attitude....ridiculous company politics, wouldn't want to work for a place like Carlile. Dave likely would've won the load count if he continued, couldn't have that, right? Great job Dave, as you said, you did "beat them at their own game"! |

Dave's a great guy and he knew Tony was full of Crap from day one..... and he told Tony off and that didn't make Tony too happy.... If I where ever to meet the guy i mostly likely would leave him in alot of pain. |

Great posts whiplock and welcome to the site. Dave didn't want any more BS Carlile was giving him. He could have said all the right words that Lane wanted to hear while sitting there and probably kept his job...but no, he told that a-hole what he felt and what was true. IMO, he wanted out of there. Screw em' Dave. Let them keep pretty boy Tony. You proved you were the better driver. With all the holding you back and wet nursing you, you still had the top load count and would have won the count at the end. Get that book written and tell us about all the crap that REALLY went on at Carlile. |

This season it seems like they really scripted everything...starting with Maya in the hot springs...give me a break...I do think Dave reacted the way my husband would have reacted....no man that has driven a truck before needs anyone to tell them what gear to leave the parking lot in....and that doesn't matter if you're driving the Dalton or I-70, Alaska or Missouri...for Tony to be going on about respect it sure wasn't a two way street.....you need to give to get it buddy.... |

Dave being fired was certainly bittersweet, as he was (is) one of my favorite drivers on the show so I hate to see him leave, but at the same time he certainly deserves better. Obviously from what we've seen, they've showed EVERY mistake he's made, which were minimal, so for them to not show his truck in the snowbank or spun out on a hill just goes to prove that he did his job well, but they couldn't handle his "take no crap" attitude. |

All good post's, with Dave ....what you see is what you get. I would rather drive with a 100 Daves than one Tony. He was spoiled by Carlile from the beginning.

I am sure we will see Dave in a good light in Bolivia SA or at least I hope so. He will be able to show off his driving skill on El Camino de la Muetre. |

I agree with old guy ...what you see is what you get with Dave...you don't ever have to wonder where you stand with someone like that..... |
