Makes sense Alaskarat. I think what happened to Greg was the catalyst, but that's my guess.

Based solely on what I have seen on IRT I don't think Carlile gives a big rats ass how they or their drivers are portrayed on tv. Other than presenting Tony with his rebuilt truck on last weeks show I can't think of anything Carlile has done to paint themselfs in a positive light. To me they seem like just another run of the mill, don't give a crap about anything but the bottom line trucking company. When a newly hired driver is assigned to a truck and he goes out to check it out and it hasn't been cleaned up or checked out or gone over by the shop before the new guy gets it, that pretty much tells me everything I need to know about what kind of company they are.

Yeah, and Maya's was practically valeted...and 90% seemed to not even notice that judging by fan reactions. Gee, I wonder if they were treated like that at their work if they would just shut up and take it?

Well as far as dave goes the man DID COMPLAIN a LOT! And the show did make it seem like he was blaming everyone else but himself!

Weather or not that was scripted to make him look like a bad guy.... I don't know.

It is also obvious that he really is not a team player. Again was that scripted too? I don't know.

But a very good driver he is. Even the owner of Carlile said as much.

But weather or not it was scripted (like Hugh) to get fired from Carlile? Who knows?

I was really hoping for a show that was REAL not FAKE...this show is definately not it!

The dangers are there of course, but this show I am afraid makes things up just to improve ratings and it is not necessary at all.

I saw a video Dave made for youtube when he was approaching Prudhoe at night in a storm, completely different Dave. He was calm, and actually pointing things out that viewers might like to know, and doing it without a shred of the crap attitude Thom Beers shoved down our throats all season long. What you saw on the show was total crap.

Duh....that's what Beer's and company do best. Dave knows how to do the job without someone looking over his shoulder.

Maya got an older truck as well and the sleeper is so small you almost have to lay on your side to fit in it (well I uess that will keep the guys out of her bunk). She wasn't valeted in,...although,....I can't help it,....yes, I'd probably be likely to do her an extra favor here and there.

I've seen a lot worse than what Dave had to put up with (seat belt and other things in the truck). With one company I had to pull the seat out,...take it home,...remove all the cusion material,....and weld the broken frame back together,...and put the seat back together,...take it back to work and mount it back in the truck,....for free. Did I complain?...No....where did it get me? When they realized the skills I had the paid me in real money to rebuild and repaint the cabs on five of their other tractors. The company was happy,...the drivers of the "refreshed" tractors was really happy,...and I was happy because I got to have a normal 8-hour day for a while,...got paid for it,...and got to do something else I enjoyed besides just driving all the time.

Compared to Dave, Maya was practically valeted. They made a scene over making sure her truck would start (how about Dave?) and hers although small, was clean enough to eat off the dash. New mattress, too, not Hugh's old funky smelling sweat stained one.
